Enrichment, Deeper Understanding, Inquiry, Thinking and Contentedness are just some of the possibilities that can be fostered when using the Museum Learning Centre in conjunction with a school visit to the Queen Victoria Museum and Art Gallery. Use the Museum Learning Centre as a pre-visit meeting place to assist students to focus on the topic you are studying, and post-visit to develop concrete understandings experienced during a guided or unguided exhibition tour, with drawing, writing, conversation and reflection.

Each month we explore the Museum and look at its fabulous exhibitions. Our experienced presenter uses storytelling, craft activities and games to introduce different areas of the Museum to pre-school visitors, together with their parents, grandparents or carers. There’s a different theme each month. Playgroup is on the third Wednesday of every month and begins at 10.30.

Share a unique opportunity and join other schools and organisations already experiencing the wonders of the animal world through our education outreach program. Hiring total of 10 loans at $65 per term (rotating two loans each fortnight) will allow you the choice from a huge selection of over 200 loans incorporating 90 different specimens
