Bug Day Out
Bug Day Out
returns in 2015 and it's bigger than ever! Literally, bigger - the theme of our first session is BIG. Join with the Natural Sciences staff, volunteers and Honorary Associates as they present the collection's biggest things. Big bugs, big bones, big meteors, BIG EVERYTHING!

Event coordinator and Natural Sciences Curator, David Maynard said, "We were fortunate to receive a WhySci grant which permits us to continue to deliver the Bug Day Out! sessions throughout 2015.
"Bug Day Out! is a child-friendly event that brings participants face-to-face with experts in a fun and safe environment. It's a great way to get kids to engage with Tasmania's fauna and flora. It's also a great forum for naturalists to meet others with similar interests.
"For instance, there are a number of budding entomologists and herpetoloists that come along to show their collections and pets, and get tips from the experts. Some families come fo two whole hours, some for just a quick look."
It's on Sunday, 24 May 2015 from 1 to 3pm at the Museum in Inveresk, and, thanks to the grant, it's free!"
