NE heathlands 1986-88 In this project, funded by the Plomley Foundation, Tracey Churchill methodically studied the spider fauna of four relatively undisturbed sites in NE coastal heathland. Besides hand-collecting and sweep-netting, Churchill set out a grid of 27 pitfall traps at each of her four sites. Sampling was at 5-weekly intervals from October 1986 to January 1988. Spiders are in the Queensland Museum and the Queen Victoria Museum; other specimens (including sorted-out frogs, lizards and millipedes) are in the Queen Victoria Museum.
