Unixenus attemsi Nguyen Duy-Jacquemin & Condé, 1967
Unixenus attemsi Nguyen Duy-Jacquemin & Condé 1967: 68 (first description),
fig. 9, p. 69; fig. 10, p. 71.
Unixenus attemsi Nguyen Duy-Jacquemin & Geoffroy 2003: 101. (In Polyxenida catalogue.)
Holotype. Female adult (labeled 'A' by Nguyen Duy-Jacquemin & Condé 1967: 68).
Locality. Torbay, WA (Station 162).
Collector, date. Collected 19 August 1905 during Hamburg expedition to Western Australia (Michaelsen & Hartmeyer 1907: 116).
Deposited. ZMH (Nguyen Duy-Jacquemin & Condé 1967: 68).
Paratype. In ZMH: female adult, labeled 'B', details as for holotype (Nguyen Duy-Jacquemin & Condé 1967: 68).
Note. The Torbay specimens were misidentified by Attems (1911: 148, 167) as the South African species Monographis schultzei Attems, 1909 (now Afraustraloxenodes schultzei; see Nguyen Duy-Jacquemin & Geoffroy 2003: 98). This M. schultzei record reappeared in later works, e.g. Attems (1914: 135), Chamberlin (1920a: 85) and Verhoeff (1924: 37).
Unixenus mjoebergi (Verhoeff, 1924)
Monographis mjöbergi Verhoeff 1924: 38. (First description.)
Unixenus mjöbergi Nguyen Duy-Jacquemin & Condé 1967: 72 (redescription),
74 (new combination?; see Note below),
fig 11, p. 73; fig. 12, p. 75.
Unixenus mjöbergi Nguyen Duy-Jacquemin & Geoffroy 2003: 101. (In Polyxenida catalogue.)
Types. Female adult labeled Monographis mjöbergi in MCZ (described as 'paratype' by Nguyen Duy-Jacquemin & Condé 1967: 72); location of other possible syntypes not yet known.
Locality. Kimberley District, WA.
Collector, date. Collected during Dr E. Mjöberg's Australia expeditions, 1910-1913.
Other records. Koch (1985) reports periodic swarming of this species at Tom Price and Wittenoom in the Hamersley district, WA.
Notes. Nguyen Duy-Jacquemin & Condé do not head their redescription of this species 'Unixenus mjöbergi' on p. 72, instead referring it to Unixenus in their discussion on p. 74. The first use of the combination Unixenus mjöbergi occurs in the caption to fig. 11 on p. 73.
In a little-known report, Burt (1984) gives details of fine-scale distribution, microhabitat preferences, response to climate, etc. at Tom Price.
