Continuity of Culture Workshop

You're invited to join us for an immersive cultural experience at QVMAG, learning the art of possum skin cultural practices with Maree Clarke and Vicki West.

Design your own take-home possum skin pelt and follow traditional Aboriginal Australian cloak making to launch the upcoming QVMAG exhibition Wrapped in Culture.

Wrapped in Culture is a collaborative project that brought together ten First Nations artists from Australia and Canada for a three-week art collaboration to create a buffalo robe and a possum skin cloak. The resulting robe and cloak will be displayed as part of an exhibition opening 22 January 2021 at Queen Victoria Art Gallery, Royal Park.

This workshop is a unique opportunity to share the stories and creative process of two iconic Aboriginal artists, whilst experiencing a hands-on traditional practice employed to produce a contemporary work.

All materials provided. There is limited availability, so please book early via Eventbrite to secure your place.
