On display at the Queen Victoria Art Gallery, Royal Park until 31 May
Art Start is an exhibition program designed to encourage children's participation in the visual arts and is open to kindergarten to grade six students from across the region.
For this instalment of Art Start, students were asked to explore the theme, Above, Beyond and Beneath, which refers to relationships with environments, space and time.
We received more than 200 entries from 10 schools and a team of student curators chose the 80 pieces now on display at the Queen Victoria Art Gallery.
Each piece is a unique take on the theme and many students reference climate change and sustainability as issues affecting them. It is clear by the evident detail and creativity that the budding artists have responded with enthusiasm and deep consideration.
Congratulations to all the artists involved.
