Join two of the makers of the Travellers’ Cloaks in an exhibition floor talk to hear about stories of 18 unique travellers’ cloaks.

Travellers' Cloaks: Handweavers, Spinners and Dyers Guild of Tasmania is a community exhibition which celebrates the common threads of our Handweavers, Spinners and Dyers Guild communities throughout Tasmania.

The Handweavers, Spinners and Dyers Guild of Tasmania  celebrate its golden anniversary in 2021. To mark the 50th year the 350 members that make-up the 20-statewide groups were asked to collaborate in the production of a travelling cloak using their diverse skills to incorporate all modes of their crafts.

Join in a walkthrough of the exhibition with two HWSD Guild members and cloakmakers, who will talk through the process behind the exhibition.

Learn how it came about and what skills, techniques and materials were used to produce the cloaks.
