 Please note that seating is limited and admittance will be on a first come, first-served basis.  

* All talks are for general audiences, but those marked with an asterisk (*) will be the most interesting for young children.

The Apollo missions

Between 1969 and 1972, NASA conducted six successful crewed missions to the Moon's surface.  We'll take a look at these Apollo missions, and make special mention of Apollo 13, which took place 50 years ago this year.  The three Apollo 13 astronauts only just made it back home alive!

Modern Developments in Astronomy—a mixture of exciting topics

We’ll take a look at some of the exciting topics in astronomy and space research, including the recent observation that suggests the possibility of life in the atmosphere of Venus.

We'll take a look at what to see in our October night sky, including finding Mars, Jupiter and Saturn, and how to pick out some of the constellations.

We'll take a look at how Pluto was discovered—and why it is not a planet any more!  Did you know that it was named by a 12-year-old girl? In this sequel to our popular planetarium show, we'll take a look at what we learned when the New Horizons spacecraft passed by Pluto in 2015, and what the craft has done since.
