Our people their stories: Celebrating 90 Years! CWA Tasmania

CWA cookery competition

The monthly Our people, their stories: oral histories of Northern Tasmania talks presented by the QVMAG Friends reveal the personal stories of a diverse range of people who enrich the lives of our community.

Celebrating 90 Years! CWA Tasmania

To celebrate Volunteers week, we have invited CWA Tasmania to share their story: a 90 year history of volunteering across Tasmania.

Celebrating 90 Years, in 2026, The Country Women’s Association (CWA) has been the heart of rural and regional communities across Tasmania for nine decades.

We’re a not-for-profit, non-party-political and non-sectarian incorporated association of volunteer women from all walks of life, united by a shared commitment to making a real difference.

Through friendship, advocacy, and action, we create lasting change that strengthens families and communities statewide.

In 2025, the Launceston CWA Shop celebrated 70 years! Come for the story, stay for a cuppa!
