Three musicians. Three Saturdays. Three hours of live sound in a world of sculpted stillness.
Join us at the Art Gallery at Royal Park for Three Spotlights, a new live performance program staged within the exhibition Sam Jinks || Mortal Reflections.
Across three Saturdays over three months, three acclaimed musicians will respond to Jinks’ hyperreal sculptures in an evolving, multisensory experience of art and sound.
The second in the series features Georgia Shine on Saturday 6 September, performing immersive, loop-based cello compositions that unfold like living rituals. Drawing on her background in movement and ceremony, Georgia’s soundscapes invite stillness and transformation — a powerful sonic mirror to the fragile, contemplative presence of Jinks’ figures.
As you move through the space, the live music becomes a living soundtrack — heightening your connection to the works and inviting quiet reflection. You're welcome to sit, stand, draw, write, or simply be. Paper and graphite pencils will be available to encourage your own creative response.
This is a FREE drop-in event at the Art Gallery at Royal Park, with no registration required. Whether you stay for ten minutes or three hours, this is a rare opportunity to experience visual art in dialogue with live music, where the gallery becomes a space for contemplation, emotion and inspiration.
Three Spotlights on Mortal Reflections performance dates:

About the performer: Georgia Shine
Georgia Shine is a classically trained cellist turned interdisciplinary performer, blending music, movement, and ceremony in wild and unexpected places. A graduate of the University of Queensland with first-class honors in Music Performance, she has taught cello since age 15 and integrates over a decade of experience with the Alexander Technique into her teaching and practice.
Georgia is the founder of the Cygnet Cello Choir and performs with the Tasmanian Symphony Orchestra, folk band Where Water Meets, and various singer-songwriters. As part of the trio Three Way Weird, she weaves cello and voice through dance and story, embracing improvisation and spontaneity.
Her solo performances use looping and effects to create immersive soundscapes that transform spaces and invite audiences into the mystery of the moment. www.georgialilyshine.com
