2 October – 5 December 2021

Minds Do Matter explores the relationship between art and wellbeing by celebrating art’s power to be life-enhancing and life-affirming.

Produced by RANT Arts and QVMAG, Minds do Matter celebrates the relationship between mental health and art and is designed to spark a conversation about mental health in Tasmania.

In 2021 Minds Do Matter focuses on the theme ‘connect’. Participating artists chose to address this in a diverse range of ways.

Minds Do Matter provides a creative platform which allows participants and audiences alike to contribute to vital conversations about mental health and wellbeing.

This builds mental health literacy and contributes to the de-stigmatisation of mental illness by promoting the notion that mental health is about everyone. This is of particular importance when COVID-19 has had a significant impact on community mental health at large.

We hope you enjoy discovering each individual interpretation as you look at the artworks and their accompanying statements.
