This month, northern Tasmanians will have the opportunity to learn the art of life drawing from iconic Tasmanian artist and educator, David Hamilton.

Set to the backdrop of the exhibition David Hamilton: Fragments and Artefacts on display at the Museum at Inveresk, participants will have a rare opportunity to learn directly from Hamilton’s practice, while expanding their understanding of the human form.

Tailored for participants with prior drawing experience, the workshop offers a focused exploration of gesture, proportion, anatomy, and expressive mark-making.

Working with a live model, participants will be guided to sketch a series of timed poses, primarily using charcoal, designed to challenge and enhance their approach to capturing movement, mood, and structure.

This exclusive workshop offers an incredible development opportunity for participants to refine their skill under the guidance of a nationally, and internationally, recognised Tasmanian artist.
