The Three M's: miniatures, models and memories
On display in the Community Gallery at Queen Victoria Museum, Inveresk 24 March - July 2018
This exclusive collection highlights the meticulous craft of model-making.
Fourteen design enthusiasts infuse art and science to create unique and nostalgic miniature worlds. The skills of these miniaturists extend across many artistic mediums including 3D printing, wood turning, clay modelling and sewing.
Shops, aircrafts and even lighthouses appear to have shrunk, offering an intimate glimpse into the miniaturists' imaginations. Each piece tells a story, set to inspire through familiar settings across history.
The exhibition will include a variety of architectural designs such as a Georgian house and Victorian school.
