Planetarium Exploration: Light – Wave or Particle?
Take a mind-bending journey through the cosmos with a specially tailored show at the Launceston Planetarium. QVMAG Senior Planetarium Officer and Astronomer Chris Arkless explores one of science’s biggest questions—is light a wave or a particle?—and discover how the deeper we look, the stranger the universe becomes.
This 45-minute session introduces students to the wave-particle duality of light, with insights into quantum mechanics and the intriguing idea of multiple universes.
Extend your experience
Enhance your Planetarium visit with a self-guided exploration of the Museum at Inveresk. QVMAG offers a range of exhibitions that complement different areas of the curriculum.
Activity worksheets are available for RISE 2025. For other exhibitions, our Learning and Engagement team can work with you to tailor experiences to your students’ needs.
