BIG Day of Science 2026: Robot play workshops (Ages 5–8)

Kick off your BIG Day of Science with Tassie’s own Robot Man and discover Indi, the colourful robot that turns play into learning.

Designed especially for younger children, Indi introduces STEM concepts through imaginative, hands-on challenges that encourage creativity and problem-solving.

Young participants will design and build their own robot mazes, then watch Indi navigate the course using its colour-sensing technology. Along the way, they'll explore the basics of coding, develop thinking skills, and learn through fun, play-based activities.

Packed with creativity, discovery and plenty of robotic fun, this engaging workshop is the perfect introduction to the amazing world of robotics and coding.

Suitable for ages 5–8.

• This is a 90 minute session, best suited for ages 5-8 on the day.
• Please note: workshops have limited capacity. Bookings are essential via Eventbrite. Children must be supervised by a parent for the duration of this event.
