Visit the Launceston Planetarium and journey through space before creating your own galaxy-inspired artwork.

Explore the wonders of galaxies in the Planetarium and be inspired by the colours, shapes and patterns of deep space. Then, using different techniques, get creative with hands-on art making.

Take a journey through the Universe at the Launceston Planetarium! You will discover what galaxies are, how they form and change, and the incredible variety of galaxies found throughout space.

After our Planetarium experience, we will head to the Learning Centre for some hands-on creative fun. Inspired by what we have seen, you will experiment with different artmaking techniques to create your own galaxy-inspired artwork. Think swirling colours, stars, cosmic shapes and the vastness of deep space!

This is a fun, interactive workshop combining astronomy, creativity and hands-on making – perfect for curious young minds who love to explore and create.
