Through intricate pencil realism, Rory Dick captures the quiet, personal echoes of childhood. Each drawing is a detailed memory trigger—an object, a moment, a smell—transformed into a portal for collective reflection.
Created over 20 painstaking hours each, Rory’s works are deeply considered, inviting viewers to linger and connect. His technical precision is matched by a poetic sense of nostalgia, built around universal themes of youth and memory.
Growing up surrounded by creativity—from sneaker sketches to curated gallery visits—Rory's work is grounded in realism and texture. He finds joy in the meditative nature of his process, enhanced by music and deep personal reflection.
Rory was excited to be part of ArtRage, stating, "It’s been a goal since the start of the year, and I’m proud to have my work recognised alongside so many talented students.”
Although Rory plans to study finance and economics in Sydney, he intends to continue drawing and exploring ways to share his art more widely.
His advice:
“Choose a subject that genuinely interests you—even if you’re not great at it yet. The journey is everything, so enjoy the process.”
